The Big Dig for Kids

“We find delight in the beauty and happiness of children that makes the heart too big for the body.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

We are honored and humbled to be sponsoring the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Big Dig for Kids again this year. The Big Dig for Kids is an annual event, presented by Sundt Construction, to “build hope and healing” for the children at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and for the “patients to enjoy the wonder of our construction community through the power of play.”

Since its inception in 2016, the Big Dig for Kids has raised nearly $2 million dollars for pediatric cancer research and has expanded exponentially to include sponsors and invited guests across the construction community. This year alone the Big Dig for Kids event raised over $800,000 for Phoenix Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders’ MIBG Targeted Therapy program.

During the Big Dig, kids experience the thrill of construction while enjoying a wide range of fun interactive activities including duck races, coloring stations, a fishing pond, face painting, a dunk tank, circus games, a marble run, and more. There are boom lifts and scissor lifts that take them high above the event tents, and a giant sandbox with excavators, backhoes, and front loaders that they can operate (with the help of professional operators).

We are incredibly grateful to be part of this special event. Please stay tuned for updates and information on how you can participate.
